The IR Vacation to Hell

 Watch Here

On July 10th Bryan Smith, Andrew Oberhardt, Todd Gillman, and Shane Robinson head to the Rio Huallaga in Peru for The IR Vacation to Hell.
The Rio Huallaga is the only main tributary of the Amazon that has yet to be kayaked successfully. The Rio Huallaga beings in the Andes Mountains and descends north over 700 miles in Peru. The Rio Huallaga meets the Amazon River west of Rio Ucacali.

For The Rangelife to be successful they will need to kayak the last un-run canyon in the upper section of the Rio Huallaga between the towns of Huanaco, 1800 km elevation, and Tingo Maria, 600 km elevation. This stretch of river is roughly 120 km long, with an average drop of 38 meters per kilometer.

The Range Life plans to be in Peru for 3-4 weeks, which will give them ample time to get further information about the area and hopefully get some helicopter time. They expect the expedition to take 5 days, but are preparing for 7. With so many unknowns, it is hard to know how long the expedition will really take. The Range Life must prepare for going into the unknown.

LVMTV headed to Seattle, WA to catch up with Bryan, Andrew, and Todd before they embark on the adventure of their lifetimes. Listen to this weeks LVM as they discuss the team, the Rio Huallaga, the Shining Path, and what other problems they may face on the expedition.
